Narendra Modi took the oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The ceremony, administered by President Droupadi Murmu, began at 7.15 pm on Sunday evening.
Alongside Modi’s, top BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Nitin Gadkari were sworn in, retaining their previous portfolios of defense, home, and transport respectively.

The newly formed government includes 30 Cabinet ministers, 5 Ministers of State with Independent Charge, and 36 Ministers of State.
Notable MPs who took the oath include JP Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, Rajnath Singh, Piyush Goyal, and Jyotiraditya Scindia. Key appointees also include HD Kumaraswamy (JDS), Chirag Paswan (LJP), Ram Nath Thakur (JD(U)), and others from allied parties.

The first cabinet meeting of Modi’s 3.0 is expected to be held today. Key decisions, including berth allotments, are likely to be announced, setting the government’s priorities for the term.

Prominent industrialists like Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and their families were present.
The event also saw attendance from celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, and Anupam Kher.
Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and former President Ram Nath Kovind were among the notable attendees.
Seven heads of state attended as part of India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy, including leaders from Sri Lanka, Maldives, Seychelles, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Nepal, and Bhutan.

In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured 240 seats while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) achieved a majority with 293 seats out of 543.
The Congress won 99 seats, and the INDIA bloc garnered 234 seats in the general election.
