Exam Postponement:
The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has postponed the Group-2 examination, which was originally scheduled for August 7 and 8, 2024. This decision was taken in response to requests from candidates who are currently preparing for the District Selection Committee (DSC) exams, making it challenging for them to manage both exams simultaneously.
Reason for Postponement:
Candidates requested the postponement due to the overlapping schedule with the DSC exams. Many candidates felt they did not have sufficient preparation time given the extensive syllabus of the Group-2 exam.
New Exam Dates:
The Group-2 exam is now expected to be held in late December 2024. The exact dates will be announced soon.
Number of Applicants:
The Group-2 exam had attracted 5.51 lakh applicants for 783 posts. The application process for these positions was conducted from January 18 to February 16, 2023.
Job Advertisement:
The TGPSC had issued a job advertisement for Group-2 last year, and this marks the fourth postponement of the exam due to various reasons.
Government Response:
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka met with Group-2 candidates and assured them that the government would explore the feasibility of conducting the exam in December. He also directed TGPSC Chairman Mahender Reddy to consider the request immediately.
Impact:
The decision to postpone the exam is seen as a positive step by the government, addressing the concerns of the candidates and providing them with adequate time to prepare. This move is expected to facilitate a smoother and more fair examination process.
The Telangana State Public Service Commission is committed to ensuring that the new dates are feasible and that candidates are well-prepared for the examination. Further details will be provided as the new dates are finalized.
