How to do Ganesha Mudra

Sit Comfortably Sit comfortably in a cross-legged position-sukhasana or Easy Pose-or on chair legs on the floor with feet flat. Relax your shoulders and breathe in some deep breaths to become present.

Bring Your Hands to Your Chest
Raise your arms to shoulder level, with elbows in the outward direction. Palms must face forward toward your chest.

Cross Interlocking of Fingers
Now reach back with your left hand and rotate it so that your palm is outwards away from you. Then curl your fingers and interlace them with the fingers of your right hand which still you have facing your chest.

Pull Your Hands Away
Slowly push the arms apart as you imagine pulling them apart, but do not allow them to separate. You will feel a beautiful tug and stretch across the front of your chest and upper arms.

Listen to Your Breath
Hold this position as you breathe in slowly and deeply, noticing how your chest expands during inhalation and relaxes tension in your shoulders and upper body upon exhalation.

Switch Sides
After a few deep breaths, about 5-10, relax your grip and change hands. On this occasion, face out with your right palm, while forming a lock of your hands with the left hand. Re-establish the pulling, focusing on your breath.

Relax and Release
Let your hands fall back down gently by your knees or thighs. Close your eyes and feel the openness, energy, and lightness inside your body.
