The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has announced the recruitment of 112 Head Constable posts for Education and Stress Counselors. The recruitment drive aims to fill 96 vacancies for male candidates and 16 for female candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 to 25 years old as of August 5, 2024. Age relaxations are applicable for reserved categories:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Up to 8 years (depending on the category).
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a degree from a recognized university with Psychology as a subject or a degree with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) or Bachelor of Teaching (B.T) or equivalent.
Physical Standards
Male Candidates:
- Height: 170 cm
- Chest: 80-85 cm
Female Candidates:
- Height: 157 cm
Relaxations: There are height relaxations for candidates from specific regions and communities.
Selection Process
The selection process includes several stages:
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male: 1.6 km run in 7.30 minutes, 11 feet long jump, and 3.5 feet high jump.
- Female: 800 meters run in 4.45 minutes, 9 feet long jump, and 3 feet high jump.
- Physical Standards Test (PST):
- Measurement of height, chest (for males), and weight.
- Written Examination:
- The written examination consists of 100 marks of objective type questions covering General English, General Hindi, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude & Simple Reasoning, and Psychology.
- Verification of Original Documentation:
- Candidates will have to produce their original documents for verification.
- Detailed Medical Examination & Review Medical Examination:
- A thorough medical examination will be conducted to ensure candidates meet the medical standards.

Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will receive a salary in the range of Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month, along with other allowances and benefits as per ITBP rules. This includes Dearness Allowance, Ration Money, Special Compensatory Allowance (while posted in specified border areas), free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, Free Medical Facilities, and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
